The idea for this site came from my personal experiences and sense of frustration as an army wife after my husband and I spent 3 years in Cyprus. We all have a need to acquire the same new things when we arrive at a posting and dispose of them when we leave and the current methods of advertising via various notice boards, within what used to be the NAFFI shops, are less than ideal.
The adverts themselves are rarely regulated and maintained, quite often written badly, missing crucial information, out of date, generally not very appealing and seen by a limited audience..
When expensive items such as swimming pools or cars were being offered for sale, sellers found it very difficult to reach a significant enough number of people to achieve a fair price. The less than satisfactory solution, in many cases, was to sell a car to a garage on the island who knew perfectly well the seller had to sell before leaving and therefore offered rock bottom prices. A classic buyers market we aim to reverse.
You can now post your ads via the site from the comfort of your own home saving time and money and with a much greater reach and exposure into other camps as well as your own. Your ads will look much more appealing and will generate a far greater response resulting in more choice for the buyer and better prices for the seller.
The site is also designed to assist serving and ex-forces personnel, as well as their families and friends, with numerous community aspects that we feel are often missing in military locations. The use of the site and all of its community areas are completely free.
There will be no charge for any adverting placed up to (insert date), after that a small charge will be made to advertisers selling items in excess of £50.00.
We want the site to be very community based and orientated and grow to meet the needs and aspirations of its users, so please feel free to use the suggestions box.
For every original idea that we use, we will give a £10 from iTunes, Amazon or M&S.
Thank you for looking at forcesnoticeboards.com and we hope you find it useful.
